long time no post

hey so it has been quite some time since i last posted. well not a whole lot has happened. i am still doing amazing in school! i recently got back an art critique and i got a 95 on it! i'm pretty sure that it was in the top 3 papers if not the top one. that made me pretty excited because its was going to be like a fourth of my grade.

umm..... i am still unemployed and avidly looking for jobs and turning in applications every day....

today we are going to have a halloween party at my place! we are going to have a scary movie marathon and it should be great! so far only rach, nikki and kaylin are coming..... which i guess is kind of good because we don't have that much sitting room. who knows other people may just pop in like usual if they know a party is going on!

hope everything is well!

First Time

Today I went to church with Aleicia Britsch. We went to sacrament meeting and sunday school, and then I took her home during elders quorum because i had meetings right after church. i figured that we had an hour, so we went to my apt and played a couple of rounds of guitar hero. I am amazing and found a great deal on a used guitar hero 2, and then we saw that guitars were on sale at walmart so we bought them. we decided a long time ago that as roommates we were going to get it and all go in on it together. it ended up only costing every one a little over 20 bucks each!!

anyways back to my story, so we played a couple of rounds of guitar hero then i took her to where her family was staying. i drove there and talked there for a min and then realized that i was going to late for my meetings! so i sped over to the church, well carefully sped.... when i got to the church i went and found my group and they were setting apart people. i walked in right after a prayer and then it was time for another one. i went to the circle and shaun yellowhorse, my pres, asked me if i would do the next setting apart, i was like "what?! i don't know what to say!" he game the the brief rundown and told me to do it. I was so nervous! it was kind of cool though because i was setting apart nate as the secretary in the elders quorum. I was so nervous throughout the whole thing but it all went smoothly! i was so glad! I am also so happy that nate is in my presidency, he got called last night.

that is pretty much the rundown though. first time inviting someone to church and my first time setting someone apart and giving a blessing to them.

my first run-in with the law

Well tonight i had my first run-in with the law. Yes, i got my first ticket.... heres the story. So Alicia Britch and i were on our way home from the store getting icecream for the fam. I was on this very unfamiliar abandoned country road with no idea what the speed limit is. All of the sudden i see a sheriff and slow but i didn't know what the speed limit was so i didn't know if i was speeding. so i continued onward cautiously. I kept checking my mirror and saw nothing so i thought that i was fine. the next thing i knew, i almost missed the turn so i had to slam on my brakes and make a sharp turn. Just when i was pulling up to the house, i noticed that there was another car behind me, then the lights went on. so i immediately got out my license and registration and waited for the copper to come. When he came up he was like "do you know why i pulled you over?" and i was like "I am pretty sure that i was speeding", he said" do you know how fast you were going?" me, "i have no idea", officer " you were going 54 in a 40." me, "ok" officer, " do you know what that means?" me "nope." officer" i will need to take you off to jail" and then he smiled, laughed and then asked me for my license and registration.
the officer took his own sweet time doing whatever they do. the next thing i knew julie britch was running down the driveway with a flashlight. when she got to my window, the intercom from the truck said "mam please step away from the vehicle...... just kidding" Then julie went and talked with the officer. when julie was finished she walked over and told me that the officer was only going to write me for 5 over. so i was like ok sweet. we were waiting for a long time so alicia and i decided to play the question game. we played like 5 rounds when i heard the intercom say "jordan, will you please come to my car?", so i got out and went to his window. when i got there he said, "did she tell you that i was only going to write you up for 5 over?" me "yes" officer "D#@m it, my printer will not work!". then the officers phone buzzed because he got a text. he texted back and told me "never get married" i am pretty sure i had no idea what to say back. he then asked me why my license plate read lana so i told him. the whole time he was making wise cracks and what not. by this point his printer is still not working so i was starting to think a may not end up getting a ticket. The the officer said that he was going to have to write one by hand and started to jokingly complane about it. then he said, "usually if this happened the person would try to get out of a ticket" in my head i was thinking " DON'T DO IT IF IT IS REALLY THAT TERRIBLE TO WRITE ONE BY HAND, AND I DON'T WANT TO MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR ME BY TRYING TO TALK YOU OUT OF GIVING ME A TICKET!!!" he then wrote one out by hand complaining about it the whole time. I was so angry! i was like don't make wise cracks and be all nice about everything and still write me a ticket! He was such an unprofessional jerk! sure he was nice about it, but he should not have been all happy and joking with my and still given me a ticket!
yeah so that was my night!

Update

I have a ridiculous story to share. So today in math my teacher (the french lady) handed back most of the assignments that we handed in. Our first assignment was to write a 2-3 page paper answering some questions about our previous math classes. One of these topics was on calculator use. In my class right now, my teacher has a strict no calculator use policy. In my paper I politely, yet strongly disagreed with this policy. I told her that I understood that it was good to learn to do it by hand, but that it also would be good to learn how to do the problems with a calculator because that is what we would use in the "real world". She apparently took offense to this and wrote a good 3/4 page on the back of my paper explaining the reasoning for her policy. I was like, ok whatever until I saw my grade. Everyone else in the class got a 10 on it and I got a 9 and a freakin half! I was like are you serious?! You really are going to dock me because I disagree with your calculator policy! I of course did not say any of that to her face because we don't really see eye to eye. She is the first teacher that I have had an actual problem with. But oh well!

Today I also was invited to have dinner with the Britches. This was a welcome change because I have the most boring roommates ever! So I went over there and we had an amazing dutch oven meal. I then went home to finish an art paper, but immediately remembered that the office was on at 8 so I had to watch it! After that the Britch girls and maddie came over to see my apt. and play some games. The most memorable was "Getting measured for your coffin" in this game you are blind folded and told to lay on the ground and get measure. They measure everything and then when they measure your second leg, they pore water down your pants!!! it was way funny!

Relief!!

I have been really stressed lately. I have about a billion things to do with my calling, most involving setting up home teaching, I had a test in History that was all free response and essay questions, and then to top everything off, I am still unemployed and have no money haha! 2 of my things were solved today, the first was that I made all of my home teaching assignments, and got everything set up with that! The second was that I just took that History test today and knew everything on it. That was such a huge relief because I was so nervous about it. It was really my first college level test and I am a history buff so I am not worried at all about what my grade will be. So the only thing left is the job thing. I am pretty sure that I have an application on file with every department at SUU so if there is ever any kind of opening I will know about it haha. So yeah, good thing I had some savings or I may have become a hobo, or actually starved to death because my housing is already payed for haha. Well I hope everything is well with everyone!
